Indian cardamom prices have been subjected to upward pressure of late due to strong export interest and lower supplies at auctions, industry sources and local media have reported. A report from Sameer Chaturvedi of Dubai-based KMG Robust said that there had been very few offers from Guatemala, particularly on the quality grades. "Most shippers are sold out for February/March first half shipments," Chaturvedi added. Guatemalan cardamom prices had firmed on a scarcity of green cardamoms, he observed.
