DIVERSIFIED Indian agribusiness, Harrisons Malayalam, has confirmed it is in talks with Ethiopian officials over leasing land to develop plantations. Responding to reports that the rubber and tea giant was looking to lease land for 99 years at a cost of $1 an acre, Pankaj Kapoor, managing director at Harrisons, told the Hindu Business Line: "We are in touch (with Ethiopia). We are looking at it closely and have plans for large plantations."
